Jed Reardon Morris.
Born March 4, 1980 in Eugene, Oregon. All-American catcher. Seven-year professional. Cancer survivor. College head coach. Minor league hitting coach with the San Diego Padres. Husband, father, and student of what makes competitors tick.

Jed’s path — from Big 12 Player of the Year to a seven-year minor league career interrupted by leukemia, to over a decade of coaching — is defined by perseverance and an obsession with what actually separates high performers from everyone else.
As a coach he’s known for developmental emphasis and for helping young players grow both on and off the field. Outside the clubhouse he leads a local chapter of Run Home Camps and a home group through his church, The Garden.
Most recently he’s been collaborating with Shami Benjamin, a seasoned high-performance coach and therapist, to help athletes compete at a higher and healthier level.

2001–2002
University of Nebraska
Big 12 Player of the Year, first-team All-American catcher. Led the Cornhuskers to back-to-back College World Series appearances. Set school records for doubles, extra-base hits and sacrifice flies.
2002
Drafted by Oakland
Selected by the Athletics in the 36th round of the MLB Draft. Began a seven-year run through the A's system: Vancouver, Modesto, Midland, Sacramento and Stockton.
2006
Diagnosed with leukemia
Faced six rounds of chemotherapy for acute lymphocytic leukemia, then made it back to professional baseball.
2008
Cal League Player of the Week
Returned to the A's system with Stockton and produced a .290 average with 7 HR, 32 RBI in 27 games before promotion back to AA Midland.
2009–2010
Lancaster Barnstormers
Played independent ball and was honored as Community Man of the Year for outreach work supporting others facing cancer.
2013–2018
Head Coach — Eastern University
Led the Division III program, guided the team back to postseason play in 2015 (their first since 2001) and drove major facility upgrades.
2018–present
San Diego Padres — Minor League Hitting Coach
AZL Padres (2018–19), ACL Padres (2021–22), Lake Elsinore Storm (2023), Fort Wayne TinCaps (2024), ACL Padres (2025–26).
